Are the podiatrists in Brighton and Hove also chiropodists and what's the difference?

All our podiatrists are HCPC registered and members of the Royal College of Podiatry to ensure our professional standards are superior in all areas. A Podiatrist is a Health Professional specialising in the diagnosis and management of the foot, ankle and associated structures and may treat anything from an ingrown toenail requiring surgery, prescribe custom made foot orthoses to assist with lower limb malfunction, sports injury management or even become a Podiatric Surgeon.

As of 1993, Chiropody changed its name to Podiatry, as it is the internationally recognised name for a foot specialist, and also reflects the advancements of treatment and regulatory changes within the profession and encompasses pharmacology, biomechanics, gait analysis, orthotic prescription and nail surgery.

Hove Foot Clinic is formally recognised as an accredited practice by the Royal College of Podiatry, meaning we meet the highest standards of professional, clinical and organisational excellence.
